ma maison singapore 日式西洋屋 . bugis

At a dark corner in Bugis Junction, here lies the Ma Maison Singapore which is rather unique to me for having exquisitely fine European setting in a Japanese Restaurant. Thanks to my babe, Louise who brought me over after our shopping Thursday. Guess what, they also have a 20% off ala carte items for ladies on Monday nights! We should plan our next night out perhaps.

Besides the blooms on table cloth that cast the impression of European setting, like the term Wabi-sabi, I do immersed in the aesthetic of impermeance, imperfection and rustic simplicity from the restaurant's portrayal of Japanese culture through my eyes for the antique goods displayed. Very cozy afternoon to go with a good book and nice cuppa tea.

The vintage leather-covered menu.

That is how they assimilate a dainty bit of Japanese into European dishes served.

Mini candle on the blooms.

The Clam Chowder Soup was truly decent as I tend to being turned off easily by unfresh seafood.

Here lies our highlight of the day, Squid Ink Spaghetti which caught me amazed. The spaghetti was al dente and the black sauce was really good. Def something that is worth trying. Ain't scary afterall.

Close up of Squid Ink Spaghetti on our plates.

And this is Louise's Gratin that simply tastes less appealing though after the serving of Spaghetti that I actually crave for more. Laugh.

Meet my companion of the day, Louise whom the downpour surely visit for almost every day out of us.

And yes, I will be back again for the tempting pizza!
