I've had quite a hectic overtime schedule for my current job. Last Friday evening was even pampering as I met up with Chee Kin and Eva at Piknik Cafe, later Zhen Hui joined us and we went on a natural crapy Friday chill. My favourite pick Cheesy Mushroom Platter is no longer available, the only flaw. By the way the end of the work week def have something wonderful to do with good food and chic-chatters. Simply awesome. :)

One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well, quoted by Virginia Woolf. That was the reason why my babes and I decided to pop in Petite Millie the modern European casual dining place as a quickie. It was a pity that I did not take many shots owing to tight travel schedule.
Peggy's pick of Affogato which derived from the Italian word that carries the meaning of 'drowned'. And that is how the coffee chemistry working later with a scoop of ice cream on top of a shot of espresso.
On the other hand, I got myself a very romantic combination of favours, Lychee Rose Tea. The lovely afternoon has been treating us really good to dip the cookies, sip the tea amidst the flow of chic-chatters and aroma of rosiness.
Whereas for food, I picked the Bratwurst where the sausage charbroiled served on potato mash and mushroom ragout. Very delicious indeed.
ps. I will definitely drop by again when I am in the city!

It has been an utmost pleasure to be invited over The Eighty Eight Restaurant for an awe-inspiring gastronomy journey with my babe Felicia. Lies beneath the shades of brown, you'll unravel a passionate guy Danny the chef who keeps the mind boggling in order to cast a little spell on his dearest customers by changing the menu monthly, or precisely first day of the month.
With the brown flowered damask placemats, that was pretty simple how the start up has named the restaurant after his birth year in pursuit of his dreams which is truly blooming.
Different from other fine dining restaurants, the table setting is rather simple with its playful tone of brown. Over here, you'll definitely get to satisfy your taste buds with a number of finely-prepared dishes in casual manner that make you feel at home.
You won't find the masterpiece of any renowned interior designers but every dainty bit of decor savoring the hearty thought of the young guy. Like I said, it is cozy like dining at home.

The restaurant paved the way by serving us the cold starter - Ilberico Ham (RM 28) at first.

What a great combination that I heart so much. Simply love the sweetness of rock melon that renders a salty-sweet sensation with the ham.
The next delicacy that was prepared heartily is the Linguine Pasta (RM 38) as photographed.
It is served with sun dried tomatoes, capers, black olive, clams and big prawns. I didn't take much of this though delicious as I am not really a fan for clams so Felicia gotta do me a job in finishing it. Sorry dear the poor babe who is actually eyeing on her food intake. Laugh.
The restaurant further pampered us with their signature side dishes like Rocket Salad (RM 7).
And the Roasted Potatoes (RM 8) that I hardly get my mouth from the bites. So tasty!
The latter fish course served was air-flown Norwegian Salmon (RM42) cooked with sous vide. Translating from French, sous vide means under vacuum that depicts a cooking method in vacuum sealed plastic pouches at precisely controlled temperature.
The skin has then seared till crispy, not to forget the complement of parsnip puree, parsnip froth, fennel salad and orange reduction to the flavorful and moist texture at the same time. Thumbs up Danny!
Lastly, the dessert Gratine Sabayone with Mixed Berries and Home Made Vanilla Ice Cream (RM 18) where the torch custard made with Italian marsala wine and mixed berries are served. Truly immersed with the fluffy temptation that melt in mouth with the touch of Victorian sconces and table lamps. We liked, a lot.
Oh yessie, this was how my dining experience in The Eighty Eight Restaurant was. Even awesome when the restaurant actually offers the three-course set lunch at RM 30++. It could be a perfect getaway for you to pamper yourself with scrumptious lunch after the hard work or a date with your loved ones.
However, it might be not so noticeable from the first sight where the owner is working hard on this issue. The only. flaw.
Or else, just drive along Kelawai Road and you'll spot a COSPLUS signboard. Right there, you may slow down and find the restaurant just beside you. Are you ready yet to leave your foodprint there?

I was really thankful to be invited to opening ceremony of NRIC 2012. Glad to see the improvement, year by year, where National Research and Innovation Competition being transformed into Novel Research and Innovation Competition.
Being the NRIC alumni, it is like a jar of mixed feelings where I found myself since my first study year in university. Throughout the sweet time when I was on board in NRIC organizing committee, it was a bliss to meet many friends from other races who I still so close with now and corporate leaders who I learnt a lot from and the satisfaction.
When the fireworks strike the deep dark abyss of night, I was being caught smiling for my unexpected met up with Dawson, Halif and some other juniors.
Beautiful night, in fact.
